Top 6 Penis Enlargement Techniques or Devices
The first three belong to the category of Penis exercises using no devices or equipment but your hand. The remaining three involve some devices.
Jelqing – Using an OK-grip, this penis exercise is both simple and effective. With your penis partially erect, slowly stroke up the penis shaft toward the glans. This not only brings nutrient rich blood into the penis, but also uses the same principles as muscle building to create increase length and girth. Check out our Jelqing Exercises page, with more links to this type of penis exercise and all its variations.
Stretching – Stretching exercises are another penis exercise great for beginners, with variations that are perfect for more advanced penis exercisers. Chances are you’ve seen pictures of Kayan women, in Thailand, who from an early begin the process to stretch their necks. This same principle applies to penis stretching. You can learn about all of the different penis stretching exercises on our Stretching Exercises page.
Kegels – Although Kegels may not be penis exercises specifically geared for penis enlargement, they will give you harder, stronger and longer lasting erections! There are penis enlargement benefits indirectly from Kegeling, thanks to the improved blood flow to the penis. Check out our article Kegel Exercises for Men, for more information.
Penis Pumps – Penis pumps are a mechanical form of penis exercise. Penis pumps come in a variety of designs, with different features; however, the basic principles of penis pumps are the same. A cylinder goes over the penis and a pump, either manual or electric, creates a partial vacuum within the cylinder. This decreased pressure causes the tissues in the penis to expand and fill with blood. Some of the most popular penis pumps include: the Bathmate and the Penomet (both water-assisted pumps); the Phallosan; and the Passion Pump.
Penis Extenders – Another popular and effective form of penis enlargement exercise is through the use of a penis extender. Penis extenders work on the stretching principle, with the aid of a mechanical device to hold the stretch for an extended period of time. Some of the most popular penis extenders include: the Penis Pal; the X4 Labs Extender; the JES Extender; and the Male Edge Extender.
Penis Hangers – Penis hangers are another stretching penis exercise. As the name implies, you attach the device and hang a weight, causing tension on the penis. One of the most innovative hangers on the market is the LG Hanger. Testing has proven the LG hanger excels in comfort and gives you greater results than any other penis enlargement hanger on the market today!
Penis Enlargement Exercises
There are two basic types of penis enlargement exercise:
· Exercises that stretch the penile ligaments – which primarily increases penis length.
· Exercises that increase the blood capacity of the penis – by stretching the tunica albuginea – which primarily (but not exclusively) increases girth.
To achieve the above, you employ a variety of techniques to stretch, yank, tug and massage your penis from every conceivable angle – all done with nothing more than your hands.
In all honesty, if I was doing it all over again I’d be more inclined to rely on a penis extender as my primary method of enlargement, for a couple of key reasons.
· They take a lot less effort to get to grips with.
· They require substantially less commitment to use regularly (which is the real secret to success).
· The sum total of those positives is a surer route to realising the goal of a bigger penis.
But for those with the commitment to stick diligently to a daily regime, penile exercise can work out to be an extremely effective option.
Do Penis Exercises Really Work?
Committing yourself to regular penile exercise for period of 3 – 6 months will not only dramatically increase your penis size, it will undoubtedly improve your overall sexual health as well.
Amongst the side-benefits, you’ll find that your erections become firmer than a cast iron flag pole; that you gain greater control over when you ejaculate; and that the intensity of your orgasms increases considerably.
In fact, no other method of penis enlargement offers so much potential.
But you don’t need to take my word for it, because it’s been clinically proven to work as well.
In the 1970’s, a certain Dr. Brian Richards investigated the effectiveness of one of the first penile exercise programs to be developed, known as the ‘Chartham Method’,
At the time, Dr. Richards was a renowned specialist in sexual health, with numerous books and studies to his name. So not surprisingly, an exercise routine that claimed to positively affect penis size was of particular interest to him.
To test the claims of the Chartham Method, Dr Richards’ set up a medical trial involving 32 men over a three month period.
Notably, the study claimed an overall success rate of 87.5 percent; with just two men dropping out of the trial and a further two failing to achieve any improvements.
As for the other 28 men, they all made substantial gains ranging from 0.94 to 1.4 inches in erect penis length and 0.55 – 1.2 inches in erect girth.
Penis Enlargement Devices or Penis Extenders
There are number of penis enlargement devices available. There are traditional penis extenders as well as specialized devices to treat certain medical conditions, like Peyronie's disease and micropenis. Penis traction device are also frequently used to minimize penis shrinkage following penis surgery.
There are so many brands of penile extenders available, all claiming to be the one and only for you. This article helps you decide for yourself by going through what you should have in mind when buying penis enlargement extender.
It also explains why the choice is maybe not as difficult as it may seem at first. This is because the difference between the penis extender brands is not as great as you may think.
The Difference Between The Penis Extender Brands
All penis enlargement extenders work on the same principle, i.e. by applying gentle but consistent traction to the penis. The actual traction devices are therefore similar (if not the same).
There are not many manufactures of medically approved penis enlargement extenders. The actual device may therefore not only look and work similarly… it may be manufactured by the same manufacturer.
The main difference between the different penile extender brands is likely to be in the extras included with the actual penis traction device.
You can usually choice between few versions, i.e. from basic version (traction device only) to deluxe / gold / ultimate / premium versions that include various extras, like comfort kit, spare parts and even penis enlargement supplements and lotions.
Which package to go for is therefore very much up to your preferences, i.e. what do you want to have included. If you are interested in the extra items, then it is usually cheaper to buy package than buying all the items separately.
What To Have In Mind When Buying Penile Extender Device
Even though the difference between the penis extender brands is not as much as it may seem at first, there are still things you should consider before buying your penis enlargement device.
We have already seen that Penis Traction Devices work. They can enhance both penis length and penis girth. Any man should be able to lengthen his penis by using external penis traction device. It is just how they work. If you apply continuous traction on a tissue, over time it will get longer.
Penile traction devices are classified as non-invasive low risk devices but still you don't want to take any chances. You only have one penis and it is important to you. Only use quality penile extenders, ideally they should be medically approved devices. To evaluate the quality, look at the material used in the actual device and the sturdiness of the structure. This may seem difficult to judge when buying on-line but you should be able to enlarge the photos to have a good look (if you cannot, maybe that tells you something?).
3. Medically Approved
Many penis extender brands claim their traction device is medically approved but what do they mean by that? Unfortunately, there is no one universal certificate that gives product the medically approved stamp. Meaning there can be different criteria behind the medically approved claims.
The most commonly used medically approved claims include:
- FDA Approved is the ultimate goal (quality and safety recognition) but to my knowledge there is no FDA approved penile extenders on the market
- FDA Registered is a legal requirement for company in order to be able to produce and distribute medical devices within the US
- European Union (EU) Medical Device Directive means the manufacturer has undertaken responsibility to ensure their products are always manufactured in standardized way
- CE Certified Device but all products sold within the EU and the European Economic Area must have CE labeling, certifying that they confirm with above EU manufacturing standards
- Doctor Approved is when doctor gives his / her approval or recommends certain product, putting his professional reputation on the line
- Scientific Studies are good indication of product effectiveness, though not all studies are of equal quality. But don't take the sellers word for it, look for confirmations, i.e. is there really a study, does it confirm the claims and is it for the relevant product and results
4. Comfort Kit
The basic versions usually include only the penis traction device, i.e. no extras. If you are serious in using traction device for penis enhancement, you need to be dedicated to your treatment. It means you have to wear the device for hours (6-8 hours) every day for few months to get the results you are looking for.
Good quality penile extender is low risk device but you still need to follow the instructions carefully. Instruction manual (booklet or DVD) should always be included with your device, even if you go for the most basic version.
Reading users reviews can be helpful when deciding which product brand to go for. The problem with on-line reviews are though how trustworthy are they?
Many writing product reviews are writing them because they are promoting the product. There is nothing wrong with that as long as that is clear to the reader (it should be obvious in the website Disclaimer). It is up to the reader to decide if he feels the reviewer is trustworthy or not in his / her approach.
The same applies about anonymous reader comments; they can be "manufactured" up to some extent. Lot of highly positive reviews only might ring some alarms, very few products are 5-stars for everyone.
But do read reviews, they can be very helpful to decide which penile extender to go for. Just read them with your sceptical glasses and common sense hat firmly on.
Finally yet importantly, it's the price. You usually have to pay more for better quality products.
Good quality medically approved extenders should be more expensive than low quality penile extenders but it is not always the case.
The price difference tends to be about what is included in the package, e.g. spare parts, comfort kit, extend of warranties and guarantees and other extras, like penis enlargement supplements, lotions, guides, etc.
Just make sure you are satisfied with the quality of the actual traction device. It is worth paying little bit more for better quality device. The optional extras are then up to your personal preferences, only the comfort kit is kind of must.
Penis Health Products
There are many penis health products available, helping you to treat or prevent various penis problems. Some products are only available through doctor prescription, like many medical products.
Other products are available in pharmacies, and even supermarkets or high street shops. Most of those products are also available on-line.
Do Penis Health Products Work?
Some products are more likely to work than others are and some might not work at all but how can you tell them apart? It is not always easy but the more you know about your particular penis problem, the better position you are in to choose the right treatment and product for your condition.
Neither does it affect my penis health products recommendations. I only offer products that I believe they may work for a particular penis problem. I always explain why I believe the product may work and for which penis problems. Some products may work for some men but not for others, this is for example the case when dealing with Peyronie's disease (as highlighted in the relevant articles).
Does Penis Size Matter To Women?
Penis size matters a lot to most men. Studies have shown that "men with a larger penis, in length and circumference, have a better body image, genital image and have a feeling of greater sexual competence"
Penis size however matters much less to women than most men think. Any women can tell you that sex is not all about the size of your penis.
Sure, some women may prefer longer or wider penises, just like some men prefer bigger or smaller breasts. However, most women prefer to have sex with men they are attracted to as a person.
Meaning personality, looks, personal hygiene and so on, tends to be more important than the penis size to most women. This is why you are unlikely to hear women talking about penis size as men talk about boobs.
There is great truth in the good old saying… it is not the size the matters, it is what you do with it. Your overall skills as lover is more important than the penis size when you get into bed.
Anyone can become good lover. Be considerate, imaginative and giving in bed and your woman will be satisfied, no matter what size your penis is.
What Women Think About Penis Size Studies
There have been number of studies into what women think about penis size. All confirm that penile size seems to matter much less to women than it does to men.
"The issue of attractiveness to women is complex, but most data suggest that penile size is much lower down the list of priorities for women than such issues as a man’s personality and external grooming"
That said, it doesn't mean that size doesn't matter at all, it is just not what matters most. Penis size does matter to some women, but for vast majority of women the penis size does not matter much as long as sexual intercourse is achievable.
This internet survey of 52,031 heterosexual men and women showed that 85% of women were satisfied with their partner's penis size. However, only 55% of men were satisfied with their penis size. Only 0.2% wanted their penis smaller, the remaining wanted bigger penises.
Another study asked 170 sexually active women about what importance do women attribute to the size of the penis. Only 1% found the penis length very important, 20% found it important, 22% found the penis length unimportant and 55% totally unimportant.
Vast majority, or 77%, found the penis length unimportant, which is very much in line with the above internet survey that showed 85% of women to be satisfied with their partner's penis size.
This study also showed that penis girth matters more than penis length to some women. 32% of the women found penis girth important, compared to only 21% that found penis length important or very important.
This study asked 50 sexually active female undergraduate students (18 to 25 years old) in having sex, which feels better, length of penis or width of penis.
This is a small study representing small sample of all women but they had clear preference. A large majority, 45 of 50, reported penis width was more important than the penis length (5 Opens in new window symbol).
This recent study (2012) found that penis size might matter in bed, but only for some women and for certain types of orgasms. Women that have frequent vaginal orgasms, or prefer penile vaginal intercourse to other form of sex, are more likely to prefer larger penises.
The study asked 323 women (mostly university students) about how important penile-vaginal intercourse and other sex acts were to them, and whether penis length influenced their ability to orgasm with vaginal stimulation.
Of the 160 women that experienced vaginal only orgasms, 33.8% preferred longer than average penises, 60% said it made no difference to them and 6.3% preferred shorter penises (6 Opens in new window symbol).
The penis length still does not matter to majority of women, but it does matter to some women and for certain types of orgasms.
The internet is awash with websites selling everything from pills to penis extenders that claim to increase the length and girth of your manhood. But do these treatments work?
Men's anxiety about penis size has spawned a multi-million-pound global industry in clinically unproven "male enhancement products".
While many men worry their penis is too small, research shows that most men's penises are normal and they needn't be concerned. Professor Kevan Wylie, a sexual medicine consultant, says men with concerns about their penis size should consider talking to a health professional before experimenting with treatments, which are mostly ineffective, expensive and potentially harmful.
"Many men who worry about the size of their penis generally have overall body image issues," he says. "What happens is that they tend to focus their poor body image on their penis.
"Often, counselling can make a real difference to the patient by building self-esteem, correcting distorted views about body image and learning more about what makes people attractive."
While you can't do much to safely enlarge your penis, men can do several things to make them feel more confident about their body.
· trim your pubic hair – a big mound of pubic hair can make your penis look smaller than it is
· lose weight – a beer belly hanging over your penis can make your penis look smaller
· get fit – getting into shape will not only make you feel more attractive, it could improve your sex life
1. Pills and lotions
These products usually contain vitamins, minerals, herbs or hormones that claim to enlarge the penis. Despite their impressive claims, there's absolutely no clinical evidence that these products work and some may even be harmful. The University of Maryland in the US carried out an analysis on some of these and found traces of lead, pesticides, E. coli bacteria and animal faeces.
"They're a complete waste of time," says Professor Wylie. "Pills and lotions have no proven benefit. If they were effective, they would be on sale at chemists. Using a lotion may help a man become more familiar with his penis, which some men shy away from. So lotions can help a man become more comfortable with his penis but they certainly won't make it any bigger."
2. Vacuum devices
Penis pumps involve placing a tube over the penis and then pumping out the air to create a vacuum. The vacuum draws blood into the penis and makes it swell. Vacuum devices are sometimes used in the short-term treatment of impotence. But overusing a penis pump can damage the tissue of the penis, leading to weaker erections.
"There is very little evidence that these devices cause any significant long-term gain in size," says Professor Wylie. "Using a pump for a few minutes a day won't do anything to increase penis size."
3. Penile extenders
This technique involves placing a weight or a small extending frame, sometimes called a traction device, on the flaccid penis to stretch it. Professor Wylie says there is no clinical evidence that using weights will extend the penis, and they may cause permanent damage to the penis. However, better results have been reported with traction devices.
"There is some evidence that traction devices can have some impact, particularly with men who are smaller in size," he says. "Some patients using traction devices for six months have noticed a gain in size of 1-2cm. However, such treatments should not be started without the supervision of a doctor."
Jelqing is an exercise involving repeatedly pulling the flaccid penis using the thumb and index finger, with the aim of increasing erection size. The idea is that the pulling exercises will increase the blood capacity of the penis' erectile tissue, allegedly resulting in increased length and girth of the penis.
"Just like using lotions, this technique can help some men better appreciate the considerable difference in size between a flaccid penis and an erect one, which helps them become more comfortable with their body," says Professor Wylie. "But there is no scientific evidence to suggest jelqing can increase penis size."
5. Penis surgery
Penis girth surgery
Some surgical techniques to increase penis girth involve injecting fat taken from another part of the body into the penis. Some studies have reported increases in circumference of 1.4-4cm. However, studies that followed men up over a longer time suggest disappointing results, with complications including disfigurement, scarring, lumpiness and infection. Another method, still in its experimental stage, involves pulling back the skin of the penis to wrap a tube-like biodegradable frame filled with tissue cells around the shaft.
Professor Wylie says the use of biodegradable frames has had better results than fat injection. "The problem with injecting fat is that over time, the body will re-absorb the fat which can result in a return to the penis' original size," he says.
Penis length surgery
The most common technique involves cutting the ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone and performing a skin graft at the base of the penis to allow for the extra length. Professor Wylie says the surgery can result in an average gain in length to the flaccid penis of 2cm, but there will be no change to the size of the erect penis. Furthermore, the erect penis won't point as high as before the operation because the ligament which was cut no longer offers support.
"A lot of men who have this treatment don't truly appreciate this loss of angle," says Professor Wylie. "It can make sex quite uncomfortable. You've got to do a lot more manoeuvring with your partner. The advantage of a 2cm gain in flaccid length is far outweighed by the loss of angle of erection."
